Grand Massif backstage

Every Thursday outside French school holidays


The lift operators and ski patrollers will show you what goes on behind the scenes of the Grand Massif.


The programme includes: visiting the Grand Massif Express gondola (tour and start-up), opening the pistes with the ski patrollers, breakfast at the Tête des Saix and surprise gift.


Information and booking at the Grand Massif Express ticket offices by noon on Wednesday at the latest.



Toboggan down the Marvel piste in Morillon

Every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the French February half term.


With your toboggans ready, the Marvel piste is cleared for an amazing 5km descent every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the French February school holidays.


Cost: 7.50€ - sign up at the lift ticket offices.

Minimum age: 7 yrs. old - helmet obligatory for children

The “Grande Odyssée”

14th edition - from 13th to 24th January 2018


For the 7th year, the Grand Massif is host to the “Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc”: the longest dog sled race in Europe.


The opening ceremony will take place in Samoëns on Saturday 13th January, followed by a stage in the Giffre mountains.

Winemakers’ week

From Thursday 18th to Monday 22nd January 2018 from 5pm to 8pm in Samoëns.


For the 8th year running, Samoëns celebrates fine food and good living through its Winemakers’ week, combining skiing and winemaking.  The village is host to around 20 winemakers who come to share their produce and passion with you.


After a day on the slopes, why not take time to appreciate the flavours which are an integral part of French heritage.


The ideal occasion to perfect your knowledge and treat your taste buds, whilst at the same time discovering local talents and skills.


Upper Giffre Winter Festival

Sunday 28th January 2018 in the Fer-à-Cheval Cirque


The Upper Giffre winter festival is back for 2018 for a fun and festive day to discover the wealth of Nordic activities available in the Upper Giffre including cross-country skiing, biathlon, rifle shooting, snow-shoeing, “paret” riding (a sort of wooden sledge), children’s play area as well as icefall climbing if conditions are right.


Access to the Fer-à-Cheval Nordic trail is free.  Refreshments and food available on site.


Free shuttle buses will be laid on from the valley Tourist Offices (Morillon, Verchaix, Samoëns and Sixt).

One Man Shows

22nd February, 1st March and 8th March 2018 in Flaine.


Throughout the French half term holidays, One Man Shows are being held in Flaine at affordable prices.


Three well-known comedians from the French stage will be in Flaine for an evening’s entertainment and laughter, providing you with a memorable time spent amongst family or friends.

Flaine Spring Festival

From 12th March to 20th April 2018


The Flaine Spring Festival equates to non-stop free entertainments through to 20th April.


For six weeks, the resort sets itself apart by putting on a busy programme based on 3 main themes: music, “afters” and children.


More than 50 concerts will be held on the slopes and outside bars and restaurants (classical music, fusion music, electro funk, pop rock, world music…), open air shows and “afters” in the resort’s pubs and discothèque
